Profile
Using a playful and imaginative mixture of hand-rendered and digital elements, Stephen began illustrating for the music industry, designing record and CD sleeves for Creation Records, Rough Trade, Weekender Records, Shifty Disco and Fierce Panda among others, working with recording artists such as The Boo Radleys, Paperlung, Piney Gir, Look See Proof, The Author and NiTasha Jackson, and his own band, Ricky Spontane.
He has also designed magazine covers and information graphics for The Lancet and its associated journals, Infectious Diseases, Neurology and Oncology, as well as providing many editorial illustrations and logo design for The Lancet’s “Dissecting Room” reviews section, in addition to logo work for various pharmaceutical company conferences.
His influences include pop-art, psychedelia, collage, and pen-and-ink techniques, and his artwork has been featured in numerous exhibitions around the UK and further afield.
He lives in London with his wife and young daughter.
