Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a website from search engines such as Google via "natural" ("organic" or "algorithmic") search results. These are the main list of website results you find beneath the sponsered listings. Usually, the higher a site is presented in the search results, or the higher it "ranks," the more searchers will visit or click on that site. SEO can also target different kinds of search, including local search, image search and industry-specific vertical search engines.

As an internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work and what keywords people use to search. Optimising a website on a basic level involves editing its content and HTML coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing methods of the search engines.

Search engine optimisers may offer SEO as a stand-alone service or as a part of a broader marketing campaign. Because effective SEO may require changes to the HTML source code of a site, SEO tactics may be incorporated into web site development and design. The term "search engine friendly" may be used to describe web site designs, menus, content management systems (CMS) and shopping carts that are easy to optimise.

Do you need Search Engine Optimisation?

This is definately the first question you should ask yourself!

  • Do you rely on your website as your main source of income?
  • Does your website have the potential to grow your business or increase the products or services you offer?
  • Do you sell products nationwide or even worldwide?
  • Can people find you using the relevant keywords?
  • Do you convert high levels of visitors to strong repeat customers?

These are just a few questions you need to consider before you can decide whether you need to invest in search engine optimisation. We carefully analyse your existing or planned website to demonstrate the return on investment (ROI) you should expect. We will never recommend an investment if the potential return is not there. If you sell unique products or services just to your local area and do not have much competition then an extensive SEO campaign may not be required.
