Once your footage is filmed, we take the files, either from tape, or more commonly these days from or portable hard drives attatched to the cameras, which have the added benefit of allowing us to instantly view footage, and import the files into our editing program. Our tool of choice is Final Cut Pro 6, the first choice of professional editors worldwide, delivering high-performance digital non-linear editing. Features include:

We begin by trimming all the excess footage, out-takes and mistakes (you can guarantee that after 3 or 4 takes, when you get your lines perfect a forklift truck will drive by, drowning out your last words!!) and then work through the "First Edit" Every hour we film needs capturing, from both cameras (or more) and editing is the most time consuming part of the process.
We then bring this to you for review, and following that move onto what we call the "Second Edit" - refining edits, matching footage to the voicover, adding music, titles, special effects etc in post production. [next] |
Editing is the most time consuming part of the process, for every hours filming it takes an hour to capture and up to 9 hours from beginning to end to edit, removing unwanted shots, getting the flow of the piece and the message of your production across.
